We have got a team of talented fishermen and adventurers on the ground here in New Zealand and Australia fishing with LOOP Tackle.
They are excited to be using LOOP Tackle and have some interesting plans beyond the usual types of fishing New Zealand is best known for...........
His happy space is anywhere off the grid with a rod in his hand and that’s where he spends most of his time. He’s based in New Zealand as a guide and fishes all around the country. He has spent years getting lost in the backcountry chasing the huge trout that live in those remote places. More recently he has put in a lot of time exploring and learning the emerging NZ saltwater flats fishing targeting Yellow Tail Kingfish. He sees this as a great opportunity for NZ to become known for something more than its great backcountry trout fishing.
He’s doing more overseas trips each year, expanding his knowledge and experience on new locations around the world. His love for fishing, the places it takes him plus the people he meets are what he lives for.

With an unmatched passion for all things fly fishing from the salt to the backcountry of New Zealand’s South Island; chasing Kahawai, Chinook Salmon and trophy trout Matt has been carrying a rod in hand fishing the South Island's waters for over a decade.
Growing up in Christchurch, Matt was wonderfully placed to develop an impressive passion for and knowledge of his local rivers and lakes.
Matt’s drive in fly fishing is to step outside the box and fish for species that aren’t commonly caught on fly, making use of the plethora of fish species available to him in New Zealand.
Matt has actively sort to expand the saltwater fly fishing scene in the South Island by making anglers aware of the incredible Kahawai fishery available to them. Catching Chinook Salmon in New Zealand with consistency after initially being told it couldn’t be done, Matt’s goal is to inspire other anglers to seek difficult challenges within fly fishing. Matt’s association with LOOP since 2013 has seen him take the brand to unlikely corridors within New Zealand, and pushing frontiers in the ever strengthening fly fishing community down under.
Matt can be contacted to via his personal Facebook page and his fly fishing exploits can be followed on his Instagram account.
Gareth Bayliss taught himself to fly fish in his late teens, since catching that first fish he has truly made up for any lost time by spending almost every available moment chasing fish.
He was lucky enough to grow up in the high country of the South Island, which allowed him to truly live and breathe his passion for fly fishing and hone his skills in sight fishing for large & wild Rainbow and Brown Trout.
Having now fished extensively on both the North and South Islands, Gareth now spends a large amount of time guiding; getting deep in to the backcountry and finding large trout for his clients to have a crack at sight fishing to.
Wanting to share his fishing adventures Gareth founded Trout Hunting NZ, a social media presence that has grown to be one of the largest of its kind, this has enabled him to share his experience with newcomers and seasoned anglers the world over. When he is not on the water he is tying flies or studying photography and videography enabling Gareth to deliver even better content for his followers.
